Businessman whose fresh approach brought benefits to employees and customers
Cecil Morrison, known as the 'Happy Baker', was co-owner, with his French-Canadian business partner, of Canada’s largest independent bakery, Morrison-Lamothe. After meeting Frank Buchman and the Oxford Group in 1932, Morrison started to put people before profits, instituting previously unheard-of benefits for his employees and leading the industry in keeping bread at an affordable price through the depression.
