Catherine Weeks

Catherine Weeks, née Mooring Aldridge, (1912-1992), older sister to Margaret Tyndale-Biscoe and Frances McAll, was married to Dr. Burford Weeks. She raised three children, all born in South India, where Burford worked in a mission hospital and later in the Indian Army Medical Corps. Catherine was both a musician and a poet. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to accompany herself and others on the piano. Some of her poems appeared in literary journals, and a collection, Deccan Sketches and Other Poems, was published in India after her death. She brought to IofC a deep spirituality, as a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
