Bremer Hofmeyr was educated at Pretoria Boys High School, Pretoria University, Oxford and Cambridge. He was the first of three brothers to be awarded the Rhodes Scholarship.
He has given his life to the world work of Moral Re-Armament and worked in forty countries. His life has been given for people and these poems were written for individual people in times of sorrow and joy. He writes for a friend awaiting the verdict whether she was stricken with cancer, for a couple who lost a lovely child, for a family who had a suicide in their midst, for the husband of a cancer victim. He writes for joyful celebrations - for an engagement, a wedding, a silver wedding, a Golden wedding, for Christmas and the New Year.
The personal, human quality of the poems give them a special appeal.
