Tomorrow’s parents : Life, Sex and Purpose, missing factors in sex education

'The greatest need of the nation is sound family life based on Christian faith and experience.

This is a booklet which seeks to put sex in its right setting. Sex education, by definition, emphasises sex. Taught as a subject with its background of biology, it deals with the physiology and practical aspects, but such an approach tends inevitably to isolate it from its main purposes. This results in an unbalanced attitude to sex which is easily exploited by the media, and other influences for commercial and ideological objectives. An adequate purpose in life, both for the present and future generations, enables the pressures of this permissive age to be handled with confidence. The authors have tried to present the purpose of morals and a satisfying aim for life, in such a way as to put sex in proper perspective. They are most grateful to teenagers and others who have helped with the ideas contained in the booklet. Finally, the authors' conviction is that the greatest need of the nation, both for the present and the future, is sound family life based on Christian faith and experience.
