Jim Wigan grew up on a farm in Suffolk, UK, and in his 20s went to work on a farm training scheme in Kenya, teaching people how to drive and maintain tractors. He has maintained a life-long connection with Africa.
For many years he was among those with responsibility for the upkeep and operations of the Tirley Garth conference and training centre.
He then then began working with Farmers’ Dialogue (http://farmersdialogue.org/) with connections and outreach to farmers all over the world. Jim travelled extensively, with other farmers, helping to support homegrown initiatives with Farmers’ Dialogue in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America.
In retirement he maintains close connections with farming friends all over the world.
