Photocopy of the original contract in 1946 for the buying of the Caux Palace (then named "Hôtel Esplanade". The Caux Palace had changed its name to Hôtel Esplanade before World War 2. The contract is between the Banque Populaire Suisse, the seller and Philippe Mottu and Robert Hahnloser "acting in the name of the Fondation pour le Réarmement moral in the process of being created, called the buyer. The two men were buying the shares of the then bankrupt "Caux Property Company" then held by the bank that had held the mortgage. The Foundation was only officially created at the end of November the same year. The little on-site exhibition talks of "A group of friends". Some one hundred families and individuals, all Swiss, got together in an entirely private initiative to raise the funds to launch this amazing adventure.
