A comprehensive introduction to Buchman’s life and thinking is given by the Swiss professor Théophil Spoerri (above), in his book 'Dynamic out of silence'. (The 220-page book can be viewed or downloaded in full here).
In it he conveys the sense of a divine guiding hand, in the context of the needs of the world — nothing less than ‘remaking the world’. The effect Buchman produced, Spoerri writes,
‘was due more to quietness than to anything he said. His gift was to make the ordinary the basis of the extraordinary, the ordinary person the doer of extraordinary things.’
