Antero Tikkanen

Nordic full-time MRA worker and self-employed engineer

Antero Tikkanen was born in Finland in 1945.

In 1951 the family emigrated to Sweden and in 1963 Antero graduated in electrical engineering. When he encountered MRA in 1967 he was intrigued and decided to give 6 months as a volunteer to find out more. There was much to learn, and ten years had gone when he was led to go back to work in industry in Sweden.

He was part of the technical crews of two travelling shows, “Anything to Declare” and “Song of Asia”. He worked with the construction of the theatre in Panchgani, and many days (and often nights) were spent in the theatre in Caux.

After the decade of volunteering the return to society started a process where the ideas of the movement matured. He is part of the board of the Swedish IofC and was for 20 years part of the Swiss IofC board (the Swiss Foundation).

After 15 years of working in ASEA/ABB Antero left and started his own company, Tikktronics. After another 15 years he sold the company but is still self-employed and is slowly retiring. He married Valerie in 1976 and finds time to enjoy the two grandchildren.
